Q: Who likes Flash?
A: Advertisers and those without ad-blockers installed. For everyone else, the development staff at The Onion devised a custom ad spec affording advertisers a premium spot on the Onion homepage. Because of the custom size, many of these pieces had to be produced in-house requiring a careful understanding of the client's brand as well as the ability to complement existing ad campaigns. This ad model endures as one of the Onion's premeire advertising opportunities.
